Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally splitting with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents his initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.

The win also indicates he has won 21 titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.

His defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete assertively, supported by an improved serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The pair traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to force a decider.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a tight final set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he secured victory with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
