David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

An official for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
